Welcome to the First Unofficial Site on the Fabulous Wedding of Evelyn Leahy and Stan van Haasteren! In the days after the wedding, I posted my photos on this page and e-mailed a number of other wedding guests, asking them to send me their photos. The idea was to offer it to Stan and Evelyn as a surprise, once they would be back from their honeymooning down the Shannon.
As is so often the case, the idea was better than its implementation.
Trouble was: for that e-mail, I had simply opened one of Stan's older mails to a number of Dutch(-speaking) wedding guests, and then I'd used the reply-to-all button to send my own message. Without, as you might have guessed by now, deleting Stan's address. So when I received an e-mail from him today, telling a whole lot of people that some photos had already been posted on this site, I was somewhat eh... flabbergasted. I called Stan, demanding to know who was the fifth column, the subversive element, the traitor... only to find out that it was yours truly who'd given away the secret - before there even was one!

So here we are now, and yes, I can hear you say: "Entertain us!". And so we will. Thank you Rolf, Eline, Freek and Bente for having provided the photos (so far).
In the meantime, a plethora of web sites on the Mother of All Weddings is sweeping the internet. They're all very compatible - this site is a little short on the wedding service & the official group photos, but if you check out the links on your right, you'll find plenty of coverage about that. But if you, dear guest, possess more photos to beef up this colourful collection, then please send it to: ruardw@hotmail.com. If you want to send something in written (impressions, anecdotes or any other flagrant untruths), I'd be more than happy to squeeze that in as well. It'd be great to have a patchwork of texts and photos, as a lasting souvenir for Stan & Evelyn, and for all of us who enjoyed their hospitality. And in the true spirit of the groom's speech, there are no limits to time or space.
So I hope you enjoy this site! For larger versions of the photos, just click on any photo you like. And ah yes: do leave your comments! Here and there there's space to write them. Yet another way of adding something to the fun.
Best to you all, hope to see you somewhere sometime in the not too distant future. It was truly fantastic, wasn't it?
